    Clyde Zoia was an American football player who played as a guard for the Chicago Cardinals of the NFL from 1920 to 1923. He was born in Preston, Minnesota, and played college football at the University of Notre Dame, where he was a teammate of the legendary Knute Rockne. He attended Woodstock High School in Woodstock, Illinois, where he also excelled in baseball and basketball.

    Zoia was one of the original members of the Chicago Cardinals, who joined the NFL (then known as the American Professional Football Association) in 1920. He played in 32 games for the Cardinals, starting in 28 of them. He was known for his toughness and durability, as he never missed a game in his four-year career. He also served as the team’s captain in 1923.

    Zoia retired from football after the 1923 season and became a successful businessman in Chicago. He died in 1955 at the age of 58. He is remembered as one of the pioneers of the NFL and one of the best players of his era.
