Mike Nugent is a professional American football player who plays as a kicker in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft and has also played for several other teams, including the Arizona Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Oakland Raiders, and New England Patriots.

Nugent played college football at Ohio State, where he won the Lou Groza Award as the nation’s best kicker in 2004. He also holds several Ohio State and Big Ten records, such as the most points scored by a kicker in a single season (120) and career (356).

Nugent is currently a free agent and has not played in the NFL since 2019, when he appeared in four games for the Patriots. He made five of his eight field goal attempts and 15 of his 16 extra point attempts for a total of 30 points
